Reassignment Of Tariff Numbers For Refrigerants & Other Chemicals

Reassignment Of Tariff Numbers For Refrigerants & Other Chemicals

Ozone Programme, Barbados

The Ministry of Environment and National Beautification, Green and Blue Economy has advised that there has been a reassignment of tariff numbers on refrigerants and other controlled chemicals and products.

As a result, customs brokers, exporters, and importers of refrigerants are now required to include the updated tariff numbers in their import and export permission applications, to avoid delays in the processing of these applications.

In addition, customs brokers, exporters and importers must do the following:

  1. Review and update internal records on the tariff classifications for refrigerants, and other Montreal Protocol controlled substances.
  2. Circulate the updated information to all relevant personnel within their organisations.
  3. Ensure that licences, customs declaration documents and all relevant documentation are updated, to reflect the revised tariff classifications.

Persons requiring further information should call the National Ozone Officer at 535-4389, email ODSManagement@Barbados.gov.bb, or visit the website at https://ozone.gov.bb/.
